Step Up To Quality Overview
The Ohio Departments of Education and Job and Family Services are pleased to inform you that on October 1, 2103 Ohio begins the implementation of the revised 5–Star Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) is Ohio's quality rating and improvement system for licensed learning and development programs. SUTQ recognizes learning and development programs that exceed licensing health and safety standards. Supports are available to assist programs in achieving and maintaining a Star Rating.
As of October 25, 2013, ODJFS licensed programs are able to submit an initial registration in order to become star rated through Step Up to Quality. In addition, currently rated programs can continue to submit change rating registrations.
Please note that the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) has already identified the ODE licensed programs that may begin initial registration. Another set of ODE licensed programs will be notified to register beginning in December 2013. At this time, no other registrations for ODE licensed programs will be accepted this year. If you are an ODE licensed program that would like to be rated, please contact ODE for more information (SUTQ@education.ohio.gov). All registrations will be completed and submitted using the Ohio Child Licensing and Quality System (OCLQS).
Rated programs are able to register for an increase to their rating in the new 5–Star Step Up To Quality system. All registrations will be completed and submitted using the Ohio Child Licensing and Quality System (OCLQS).
